Cresson -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team hosted Medaille College on Monday afternoon, in the Athletic, Convocation and Wellness Center. It was the first game of the second round of AMCC competition. The Mounties came back from a nine-point halftime deficit to win 58-43.

Rachel Robinson (Leola, PA, Conestoga Valley) led the Mounties with 14 points off the bench, attributed to 4-9 shooting and 5-6 from the free throw line. She also grabbed seven rebounds.

Ryanna Hockenos (Ashville, PA, Penn Cambria) grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds, including six on the offensive end.

Macy King (New Bethlehem, PA, Redbank Valley) scored four points to go along with nine rebounds. She also led the team with three assists on the day.
- Morgan Kennedy led the Mavericks with 14 points, prior to fouling out in the third quarter. Amanda Arnold registered a team-high nine rebounds, to go with 12 points.
How It Happened
- Medaille started the scoring early after the Mounties struggled to find the basket. The Mavericks got out to an 8-0 lead. A Hockenos jumper and twoÂ
Lea Sammarco (Patton, PA, Bishop Carroll) three point field goals helped the Mounties cut the deficit to 10-8.
- The Mavericks would go on to score 10 of the final 12 points in the period, to lead 20-10. Mount Aloysius went 4-20 from the field during the quarter.
- Mount Aloysius picked up one point on the Mavericks in the second quarter, as neither team scored more than three points in a row. The score heading into halftime was 32-23, in favor of Medaille.
- Over the first four minutes of the third quarter, Mount Aloysius cut the lead to three. King scored back to back layups, followed by a Walls runner and capped by a Robinson three pointer.
- On the following possession, Arnold would score a basket and get fouled, where she was able to complete the old-fashioned three point play. The bucket made the score 38-32, Mavericks.
- After the Arnold basket, the Mounties found their groove and outscored the Mavericks, 22-0 during the next 14 minutes of play. Medaille's next basket came with just over one minute remaining in the game.
- Mount Aloysius outscored Medaille 35-11 in the second half. They were able to hold the Mavericks to 15% shooting in the final two periods.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius won their second game in a row, shooting below 30%. They finished the game 28.6% from the field.
- Every player that played in the game scored at least one point. All six Mavericks made at least one field goal.
- The Mounties took great care of the ball, only committing seven turnovers for the game. The Mavericks made 12 miscues.
- Mount Aloysius won the rebound battle for the first time all season, with 16 more rebounds than their opponent. They had five players with seven or more rebounds in the game. They also grabbed 18 offensive rebounds as a team, tying their season-high.

- Mount Aloysius improved to 3-8 in AMCC, with a 4-12 overall record. It was their second consecutive victory.
- They will return to action on Saturday afternoon, against Penn State Behrend, at 4 pm, in the ACWC.
- Penn State Behrend is currently 10-5 overall, 7-3 in AMCC play. They are coming off a 78-77 victory over Penn State Altoona on Saturday.
