Cresson -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team hosted AMCC-foe, Pitt-Greensburg, on Wednesday night in the Athletic Convocation and Wellness Center. They kept things close through the first half, but in the end fell short, 80-60.

Carly Stigers (Beaverdale, PA, Forest Hills) led the Mounties with 19 points. She went 7-10 from the field, including 3-5 from three-point range.

Ryanna Hockenos (Ashville, PA, Penn Cambria) andÂ
Kourtney Walls (Salix, PA, Forest Hills) each grabbed six rebounds. Hockenos added 12 points on and efficient 6-9 shooting performance. Walls also dished out a game-high, six assists.
- Shaquoia McCray led the Bobcats with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. Cat Gollihugh dished out three assists.
How It Happened
- The Mounties got off to a hot start, hitting four shots in a row early, to open up a 10-2 advantage in the first two minutes. Stigers scored five of the Mounties' ten points, whileÂ
Lea Sammarco (Patton, PA, Bishop Carroll) added a three, and Hockenos added the first basket.
- With the Mounties up 15-7, the Bobcats sparked a run of 14 straight points, to grab a 21-15 lead. Each team scored one more basket in the quarter, making it 23-17 at the end of the first.
- In the second quarter, both teams kept up their hot shooting. The Bobcats grew their lead to as big as 14, with just over a minute remaining. However,Â
Zoé Harding (Garrett, PA, Berlin-Brothersvalley) scored the final five points of the half for the Mounties, cutting the lead back to nine, 44-35.
- The third quarter spelled disaster for Mount Aloysius, as they were outscored 24-7 in the period. Hockenos,
Macy King (New Bethlehem, PA, Redbank Valley), and Stigers each made baskets for the Mounties, while Harding added a free throw.
- During the final period, the Mounties outscored the Bobcats, 18-12. Stigers scored eight, on 3-4 shooting, including two of her threes.Â

Rachel Robinson (Leola, PA, Conestoga Valley) each added four points on 8-8 shooting from the free throw line. Hockenos scored the other two Mountie points.
Into the Box Score
- The Bobcats won the rebounding battle by a wide margin, 46-27, including 22 offensive rebounds.
- While the Mounties shot a better percentage from the field, the Bobcats added five more three pointers, for 12 made threes on the night. Mount Aloysius went 7-18 for the game.
- Mount Aloysius had two different halves in terms of shooting percentage. In the first half, they went 13-23 (56.5%) and went 7-26 (26.9%) in the second half. The difference led to the UPG lead growing in the second half.

- The Mounties will travel to Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, to take on the Panthers. In their last meeting, the Mounties beat the Panthers, 59-48. Stigers scored 17 points in the win.
