CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team played host to Alfred State, in a doubleheader. They fell in both games, 3-0.

Leaders
- Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria) led the Mounties with 11 kills, two service aces, and 24 digs on the day.
- Emma Colyer (Orlando, FL, Olympia) registered 20 assists between the contests.
- Kiersten Szpala (Ebensburg, PA, Central Cambria) picked up seven blocks.

How It Happened
Game 1
- Mount Aloysius fell behind, early in the first set, 7-3, and were down by as many as six, before cutting the lead to one point. They were unable to get over the hump and fell 25-23.
- In the second set, they were close through the first half, while it was 14-12, Alfred State. Then the Pioneers scord 11 of the last 14 points, to win the set 25-15.
- After starting out, 4-4, the Mounties gave up eight straight points and never recovered, falling 25-12.

Game 2
- To start Game two, the Pioneers scored nine out of 11 to go up 9-2. While the Mounties fought back to within one, 13-12, the Pioneers outscored them, 12-4, winning the set, 25-16.
- Mount Aloysius started ahead to begin set number two, but again gave up a big run to get behind and fall, 25-17.
- In the third set, the Mounties produced some strong play. They scored five straight points, to take a 19-17 lead. After falling behind, they scored two points to make the score, 24-23, but the Pioneers scored to dash their hopes.

Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius was outhit in all but one set, over the course of the day. In the third set of Game two, they hit .152 compared to .049 from Alfred State.
- Their first and last sets of the day, both ended in 25-23 scores.

Up Next
- Mount Aloysius will host their annual Pink Out Game, on Wednesday night. They are scheduled to host La Roche.
- La Roche is currently 5-14 on the season, with a 2-3 record in the AMCC.
