Mounties Bested by Lions

ALTOONA, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team fell to rival, Penn State Altoona, on Tuesday, 3-0. They fell to 4-15 on the season.

Leaders
- Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria) led the Mounties with nine kills. She also had a team-high, 16 digs.
- Hannah Atzeni (Sligo, PA, Union) registered nine assists.

How It Happened
- Penn State Altoona gradually built a strong lead, in the first set. Mount Aloysius was not able to score more than two consecutive points, while they fell 25-15.
- The second set saw similar results. After a short 2-1 lead by the Mounties, PSA scored eight straight points for a commanding lead. They would go on to win the second set, 25-11.
- Mount Aloysius had some fight in the final set, as the initially fell behind, 10-4. Seven straight points later, they had a small lead, 11-10.
- The teams played the next 18 points even, with the Mounties holding a 20-19 advantage. Penn State Altoona scored six of the final seven points to end the Mounties hopes.

Into the Box Score
- Penn State Altoona held a wide margin in kills, 40-25, and also hitting percentage, .171 to .051.
- The Lions also had eight service aces, compared to only one Mountie ace, by Atzeni.

Up Next
- Mount Aloysius will host Penn State Behrend, on Saturday, in their regular season finale.
- In the series, Mount Aloysius has never beaten Penn state Behrend. They lost, in five sets, back in 2018.
- The Mounties have already clinched a playoff berth, as they are locked in as the #6 seed. Saturday's matches will determine who and where the Mounties will play.
