Mounties Advance to AMCC Semi-finals with Win Against Pitt-Greensburg

CRESSON, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Soccer team scored four goals in a win against Pitt-Greensburg, on Saturday, to secure a spot in the AMCC Semi-finals.

Leaders
- Tevin Beadle (Kingston, Jamaica, St. George's College) led the Mounties with two goals, giving him five goals on the season.
- Louis Vivier (Bordeaux, France, Lycée Gustave Eiffel) had two points for the Mounties, on two assists.
- Mount Aloysius goalie, Luke Priestley (Edlesborough, England, Aylesbury Grammar School), had four saves in the game, split between the two halves.

How It Happened
- In the first half, Mount Aloysius put pressure on the Bobcats, forcing goalkeeper, Danny Rodgers, to make some key saves. Rodgers made six saves keeping Mount Aloysius off the board in the half and sending the game to the locker room, 0-0.
- Jonathan Fernandez (Herndon, VA, Herndon) scored the first goal of the game, putting Mount Aloysius ahead, 1-0, in the 47th minute. He scored after the ball came to him on a corner kick.
- Just a minute later, Beadle added an insurance goal when he took a pass inside the box for a shot past the goalie. Vivier and Juan Camacho (Ibaque, Colombia, San Bonifacio de las Lanzas) were credited with assists on the goal.
- With the Mounties ahead 2-0, the Bobcats picked up a set of cards, including a red card, putting them a man down for the remainder of the game.
- In the 56th minute, Beadle added his second goal on another assist from Vivier. The goal put the Mounties ahead, 3-0.
- Finally, in the 84th minute, Jesper Stensson (Helsingborg, Sweden, Filbornaskolan) scored his second goal of the season on a one-time shot from outside the box. The impressive shot beat the Bobcat goalie into the upper corner of the net. Neither team would score again, giving the Mounties a 4-0 victory.

- Mount Aloysius outshot the Bobcats, 23-7 for the game, including ten more shots on goal.
- The Mounties also had a 8-2 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
