Volleyball Wins Second Straight Game

HAMBURG, N.Y. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Volleybal team got their first AMCC win of the season, on Saturday, as they swept Hilbert, 3-0. It was their first AMCC victory of the season, making them 1-1 in conference play.

Leaders
- Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria) led all players with 10 kills. She also added nine digs.
- Hannah Atzeni (Sligo, PA, Union) had a game-high, in assists, with 16.
- Abigail Fletcher (Salem, VA, Glenvar) also led the game with 13 digs.

How It Happened
- Hilbert started out strong, jumping out to an 8-3 lead in the first set.
- The Mounties responded with a 9-1 run, to take the lead.
- While Hilbert battled tough in the set, Mount Aloysius finished with the final six points, including two aces from Parrish.
- In the second set, the Mounties started ahead, 4-1, and never looked back. They never trailed in the set, while Hilbert tied it one time. 2-0 Mounties
- Hilbert got ahead, in the final set, with five straight points to go up 5-1.
- Mount Aloysius scored 25 of the next 31 points, including the final 10, giving them the 3-0 sweep.

Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius had their best hitting game of the season, at .210. They had 37 kills and only 15 errors.
- The Mounties also had 10 service aces, including four from Sydney Lechner (Bellwood, PA, Bellwood-Antis).
- Bella Kies (Bellwood, PA, Bellwood-Antis) had an efficient day as she had seven kills on 13 attempts. She only committed one hitting error.

- Mount Aloysius is set to travel back to Greensburg, on Tuesday, to face Pitt-Greensburg for the second time this season. This game will count toward the AMCC standings.
