BRADFORD, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team traveled to Pitt-Bradford, on Saturday, for a tri-match with the Panthers and Alfred University. The Mounties dropped both contests.

Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria) led the Mounties with 15 kills on the day.
- Setter,
Hannah Atzeni (Sligo, PA, Union), had a team-high, 24 assists, including 16 in the game against Alfred.

Kylie Wadsworth (Sidman, PA, Forest Hills) had seven blocks, to lead Mount Aloysius.
How It Happened
Game 1 (vs. Pitt-Bradford)
- Mount Aloysius fell behind in set one, after a solid start. They were ahead, 6-4, before UPB scored seven in a row to take the lead for good. The Panthers finished the set, 25-11.
- The Mounties showed some fight in the second set, after they fell behind 11-3 when Pitt-Bradford scored eight straight points. They put together two good stretches of their own, but were already too far behind, losing the second set, 25-19.
- In the final set, Mount Aloysius scored two straight points, only twice, on their way to a 25-8 loss. The Panthers earned the AMCC victory, 3-0.
Game 2 (vs. Alfred)
- A six point swing helped get the Mounties ahead in the first set, 10-4. They continued to lead the Saxons, 13-9, playing strong.
- Alfred would go on to score nine of the next 12 points, getting ahead to stay in the first set. The Mounties would drop the set, 25-20.
- Mount Aloysius would continue to struggle in set number two, as they fell behind again and were unable to put much of anything together, as they lost 25-13.
- The third set was a fight that went back and forth. Late in the set, Mount Aloysius was down, 25-24. Parrish had two of her kills in the next five points, as the Mounties scored four of the final five to win, 28-26, and keep their hopes alive.
- In the fourth set, Mount Aloysius jumped out quick, taking a 4-1 lead. Alfred responded scoring eight of the next nine points to grab the lead.
- Mount Aloysius then scored 14 of the next 17, to jump ahead, 20-14. They would hold on to force a fifth set, by winning 25-21.
- During the final set, each team traded runs, as they found themselves in a dogfight. With Alfred ahead, 13-11, Mount Aloysius tied it with two points, including a kill by
Ava Myers (Gallitzin, PA, Bishop Carroll).
- Alfred was able to score the next two points to end the match, 3-2, with a 15-13 final set victory.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius had a rough day in the first game, as they hit -.053, tallying more hitting errors than kills.
- For game two, the Mounties did hold a hitting percentage above zero, but were behind by 13 kills over the course of the game. the Saxons hit .117 while the Mounties hit .040.
- The game against Alfred was the first game this season that the Mounties have played into the fifth set. They had made it to the fourth set in three of their previous games.
Up Next
- The Mounties will travel to Pitt-Greensburg for a non-conference matchup, on Thursday, at 7 pm. Mount Aloysius will have another matchup later in the season with the Bobcats that will count towards the AMCC standings.
- Pitt-Greensburg is currently 1-13 overall, with their only win coming against Saint Vincent, earlier this season.
