How It Happened
- The Mounties stayed with Hilbert in the opening part of the game, with the score tied at 11 after about four minutes of play. Hilbert then went on a run to expand the lead to as much as 11 with about 12 minutes remaining.Â
- The Mounties cut the lead to six shortly after, but that is the closest they would get in the half. Hilbert built a double-figure advantage and maintained it through the conclusion of the half, leading 51-39.
- Mount Aloysius made its move in the second half, going on a 10-0 run to start the period, with Palacio contributing eight points during the stretch, to make it 51-49. Hilbert still held the narrow advantage until Britt hit a fast break layup at the 15:10 mark to give the Mounties their first lead of the game, 61-60.
- The Mounties increased the gap to six points on a dunk by Jones with about thirteen minutes remaining. The Mounties continued their strong play and the lead widened a couple minutes later to 72-63.Â
- Hilbert responded, however, and tied the game at 74. But the Mounties would not let Hilbert take back the lead and built back up the advantage to 88-80. Hilbert made a push in the final minutes and even had an opportunity at the last possession but the Mounties held on to win, 89-88.
Into the Box Score
- The Mounties led in field-goal percentage, 53 percent to 46.2 percent.Â

- Mount Aloysius had 20 assists and limited its turnovers to just 11.
