Mounties Get Third Straight Win

ALFRED, N.Y. -- Two goals in a two-minute span early in the game against Alfred State University on Saturday afternoon gave the visiting Mount Aloysius men's soccer team its third straight AMCC win.

Leaders
- Louis Bez (Bordeaux, France, Lycée Sainte-Marie de la Bastide) and Rhett Pletcher (Rockwood, PA, Rockwood) provided the scoring for the Mounties, each converting one goal, bringing both of their season totals to three.
- Tevin Beadle (Kingston, Jamaica, St. George's College) had seven shot attempts, with five shots on goal.

How It Happened
- Bez took the first shot of the game for either team at the 12:21 mark and was successful, giving the Mounties an 1-0 lead. Then, approximately two minutes later, Pletcher scored to increase the advantage to 2-0. That would complete the scoring for the first half, as the Mounties maintained their 2-0 lead the rest of the period.
- At the 53:32 mark in the second half, Alfred State responded with a goal to cut the score to 2-1.  Both teams had several shot opportunities the rest of the way but neither found the goal, meaning the Mounties held on to a 2-1 victory.

Into the Box Score
- The Mounties edged Alfred State in shots, with 16 compared to 15. Nine of those shots were on goal, while Alfred State had just three shots on goal.
- Mount Aloysius led in corner kicks, 8-6.

Up Next
- Mount Aloysius looks to continue its strong run through the AMCC Conference, heading to La Roche University on Wednesday, October 19 at 3 p.m. La Roche does not have a win this season, while the Mounties are tied with Penn State Behrend at the top of the conference.
