CRESSON, Pa. -- The 2022 AMCC conference schedule opened for the Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team, as they hosted Pitt-Bradford on Saturday. The Mounties came back to win the final two sets and win the game in five sets.

Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, Pa. / Northern Cambria) led the Mounties with 13 kills and 24 digs.

Molly Richards (Naples, Fla. / Naples), added 11 kills, 20 digs, and two aces.

Emily Henry (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights) had 12 kills and a game-high, seven blocks.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius got off to a hot start in the first set, jumping ahead 5-1. Pitt-Bradford made a run to get back in the lead, 11-8. The Mounties took one more lead, 13-12, before falling behind for good. They kept the set close, but ultimately fell 25-22.
- In the second set, the Mounties took control again, leading 8-3. The Panthers again fought back, tying the set at 11 and taking an eventual 15-12 lead. Both teams traded four-plus point runs and stayed close, tying again at 19-all. Trading points to 22-22, the Mounties scored the final three points of the set, to win, 25-23.
- Pitt-Bradford grabbed an 11-2 lead in the third set and the Mounties never recovered. While they got as close as seven points, the Panthers got a 2-1 lead by winning the third set, 25-13.
- Set number four saw the Mounties start strong once again. They had control, 15-8, and 19-13, but saw the Panthers make a significant comeback and take a 22-21. Mount Aloysius pulled it together and scored the final four points of the set, sending the game to the fifth set, 25-22.
- In the fifth set, both teams traded the lead multiple times, and remained even at 12. The Mounties got three consecutive points, with kills from Henry and Parrish, sandwiched around an ace from
Kadence Della Valle (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights), to win the fifth set, 15-12, and earn the match victory.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius outhit the Panthers, .160 to .118. The Mounties were more efficient as they only had three more kills, but had four less errors.
- The Mounties made a significant impact at the net, as they tallied 11 blocks, including seven from Henry. Pitt-Bradford only had just seven blocks.
