CRESSON, Pa. -- In its first AMCC tournament win in school history, the Mount Aloysius women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over La Roche University on Wednesday night. The Mounties controlled the contest, redeeming two earlier losses to the Redhawks in the regular season.

Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria)'s standout career continued with a 16 kill and 30 dig performance.

Emma Colyer (Orlando, FL, Olympia) each tallied 22 assists.

How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius began the first set with a 5-0 run, featuring two kills from Parrish and Johnson each, all on assists by Colyer. La Roche got within one point, 8-7, before kills by Szpala and Richards made it 10-7. The Mounties would then stretch the lead to five points, 18-13. La Roche did not go away quietly, however, clawing its way back to 20-19. The Mounties held on to a slight lead in the final part of the set, eventually winning by a 25-23 score on another kill by Parrish.
- In the second set, La Roche opened with an 8-5 advantage, before the Mounties stormed back with six unanswered points to take over the lead, 11-8. After trading points, Mount Aloysius went on a 4-0 run to make it 16-10. Mount Aloysius continued to control the set, going ahead 21-16 before winning four straight points, including three kills by Richards, for the Set 2 victory, 25-16.
- The Mounties held the advantage in the beginning of the third set, 9-6, until La Roche won seven of eight points for a 13-10 lead. Mount Aloysius tied the game at 13 but La Roche answered with 6-0 run to go ahead 19-13. La Roche ultimately put the set away, 25-19, but the Mounties still had the 2-1 edge in the overall score.
- La Roche led the fourth set 4-1 before Mount Aloysius responded to even the game at four points. The game stayed tight through the early portion of the set and was tied again at ten points. La Roche then won five of six points for a 15-11 advantage. Mount Aloysius responded, however, with a five-of-six points stretch of their own to even the set at 16 points. The game was tied again at 18 when the Mounties put together a 4-0 run for the 22-18 lead. The Mounties earned a match point at 24-21 and on a kill from Richards, closed out the set, 25-23, and game, 3-1.
