Mounties outmatched by La Roche

CRESSON, Pa. -- La Roche University's dominant second half was too much for host Mount Aloysius, who fell 108-54 on Wednesday night.

Carly Stigers (Beaverdale, PA, Forest Hills) led the Mounties with 21 points, including four three-pointers and a perfect 5-of-5 from the charity stripe.
- Cameron Bates (Fort Pierce, FL, John Carroll) had another solid performance, recording 14 points and six rebounds.

How It Happened
- The first quarter was Mount Aloysius' best of the game - they only lost it by three points, 19-16. Stigers was on fire during the quarter, connecting on three shots from long range.
- Stigers fourth three-pointer at the start of the second quarter tied the game at 19. After La Roche scored, Stigers hit a jumper to even the score again at 21. La Roche then reeled off 13 unanswered points to give them control of the quarter, 34-21. The period eventually ended with La Roche ahead 44-29.
- La Roche's efficient shooting in the third and fourth quarters put the game away. La Roche shot 70.59 percent during that time and also went 8-of-10 from the three-point line. La Roche led 76-39 after the third quarter and then ultimately won 108-54.

The Mounties were more productive from the free throw line, going 19-of-26 for 73.1 percent, compared to La Roche's 9-of-17 for 52.9 percent.
- Led by Stigers, the Mounties were a perfect 4-of-4 from behind-the-arc in the first quarter, but then cooled off the rest of the game, in which they only connected on one more three-pointer.
