CRESSON, Pa. -- Led by career-high performances from
Cameron Bates (Fort Pierce, FL, John Carroll) and
Abbey Dobbins (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell), Mount Aloysius put on an offensive display against visiting Pitt-Bradford, winning 87-70 Wednesday night, for its third AMCC victory of the season.
Leaders
- Bates led all scorers with 25 points and also added six rebounds, four steals, and one block.
- Dobbins recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Karissa Mercier (Freedom, Pa., Freedom) came off the bench to score 12 points and grab six rebounds.
- Additionally,
Carly Stigers (Beaverdale, PA, Forest Hills) was in double-figures, adding 11 points. She also was significantly involved in the offensive production, handing out eight assists.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius started the game with two takeaways that led to layups by Bates. Bates knocked down a three-pointer to give the Mounties a seven-point lead at the seven minute mark, 12-5. The Mounties maintained the advantage for the quarter, even stretching the margin to as large as eight points, but Pitt-Bradford was able to cut the lead to just two points by the end of the period, 24-22.
- Pitt-Bradford briefly went ahead for the first time at the seven minute mark of the second quarter, 27-26. But the Mounties quickly regained the lead on the next possession on a three-pointer by Stigers. This started a 14-0 run for the Mounties which allowed them to take control of the game. They eventually ended the quarter with a commanding lead, 45-31.
- In the first half of the third quarter, the Mounties maintained a double-figure advantage, with the score 54-43 at the 5:22 mark. Pitt-Bradford was able to get the difference to seven points, but the Mounties recovered and finished the quarter ahead by fourteen points yet again, 69-55.
- Pitt-Bradford did not threaten the Mounties in the fourth quarter, and they cruised to a 87-70 victory, their third AMCC win of the season.

- The Mounties were more efficient shooting overall (47.8 percent to 36.5 percent) and from behind-the-arc (34.6 percent to 26.7 percent).
- Mount Aloysius had 22 points off turnovers, compared to just 11 for Pitt-Bradford.
