CRESSON, Pa. -- In an AMCC matchup, the Mount Aloysius women's basketball team was unable to overcome the efficient shooting of visiting Medaille College, falling 77-48 Saturday afternoon.

Abbey Dobbins (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) each added eight points. Dobbins also pulled down six rebounds.

Cameron Bates (Fort Pierce, FL, John Carroll) had a team-high eight boards.
How It Happened
- After Medaille scored the first six points of the game, Stigers connected on back-to-back three-pointers to tie the game at 6-6. About halfway through the period, Dobbins knocked down a jumper to again even the score, 10-10. Medaille then went on a 10-0 run to take control over the quarter. The quarter concluded with Medaille ahead 22-13.
- The Mounties played strong defense during the first half of the second quarter and were still within ten points, down 25-15. However, during the latter stagers of the quarter, Medaille expanded the margin, resulting in a 41-22 lead at halftime.
- During the third quarter, the Mounties held Medaille to just 14 points, their best defensive effort of the game, but they were unable to get much going offensively. Medaille continued to grow its lead and was leading 55-31 by the conclusion of the quarter.
- The Mounties scored 17 points in the final quarter, including two three-pointers from Drutarosky, but were unable to narrow Medaille's sizable advantage, ultimately falling 77-48.Â
Into the Box Score
- A major difference in the game was field goal percentage and three-point percentage. Medaille out-shot the Mounties 57.1 percent to 26.8 percent overall and an impressive 72.7 percent to 28.6 percent from long distance.
- The Mounties won the turnover battle, with 18 compared to Medaille's 21.
- Mount Aloysius was more efficient from the charity stripe, converting 75 percent of their free throws against just 45.5 percent for Medaille.
