BRADFORD, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team stopped Pitt-Bradford for the second time within a week, winning 77-68 on the road Monday night.
Leaders
- Bree Garzel (Port Allegany, Pa., Port Allegany) came off the bench to score a team-high 20 points and hand out three assists.

Abbey Dobbins (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Carly Stigers (Beaverdale, PA, Forest Hills) and
Cameron Bates (Fort Pierce, FL, John Carroll) both recorded double-doubles. Stigers had 12 points and ten rebounds, and also dished out three assists. Bates finished with ten points and ten rebounds.

Zoé Harding (Garrett, PA, Berlin-Brothersvalley) and
Hailey Drutarosky (Freedom, Pa., Sewickley Academy) each chipped in eight points.
How It Happened
- The Mounties started strong, leading 12-2 after the first five minutes. Pitt-Bradford responded with an 8-0 run to get within two points. During the final minutes of the quarter, the Mounties stretched the advantage to seven points multiple times and ultimately finished the quarter ahead 20-16.
- The Mounties maintained a slight lead during the early part of the second quarter. However, Pitt-Bradford took its first lead of the game at the 5:08 mark, 24-23. After going down by three points, Garzel tied the game with a shot from deep at the 2:36 mark, 26-26. She nailed another three-pointer a minute later to allow the Mounties to recover the lead, 29-27. They held onto this lead and even increased it to 34-29 at the conclusion of the quarter.
- During the first portion of the third quarter, Pitt-Bradford continued to fight and were within one point multiple times and as late as the 4:06 mark with the score 43-42. However, the Mounties staved them off and never let go of the lead. In the latter stage of the quarter, the Mounties gradually expanded the margin and were ahead 53-45 at the end of the period.
- At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Garzel's third long-range make and a layup by Dobbins gave the Mounties its largest lead of the night, 58-45. Pitt-Bradford was able to get the game within one possession midway through the quarter, but the Mounties never surrendered the advantage. They eventually built a cushion and held it to the finish, winning 77-68, for their fourth AMCC victory of the season.Â
