WINCHESTER, Va. -- The Mount Aloysius Baseball team opened their season, on Tuesday, with a nine inning game against 22nd-ranked, Shenandoah. The Hornets came into the game with a 6-1 record on the season.

Tyler Suder (Boswell, PA, North Star) led the Mounties with two hits and drove in their only run of the game.

Chris Hasse (Johnstown, PA, Westmont Hilltop) threw three scoreless innings for Mount Aloysius, to finish the game out of the bullpen.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius struck first in the top of the third inning, as Suder doubled to left center, driving in
Joshua Brown (Manassas, VA, Osbourn Park), who was hit by a pitch. The double gave the Mounties a 1-0 lead.
- Shenandoah responded in the bottom of the third, with a run-scoring double to tie the game at one.
- In the bottom of the fourth, the Hornets added three more runs to take a 4-1 lead.
- The Hornets put together an impressive sixth inning to put the Mounties away. They scored five runs total, in the frame, with four of the coming of consecutive homeruns. They would end the game, with that 9-1 advantage.

- Mount Aloysius was held to just three hits for the game, two of which were by Suder.
- The Mounties pitching staff registered seven strikeouts in eight innings of work, four of which came from starter,
Creek Miller (Lakewood, OH, Lakewood).

- Mount Aloysius is set to head south again for the weekend, for a three-game set at Mary Baldwin. The teams are set to play two games on Saturday before finishing the weekend with a game on Sunday afternoon.
