CRESSON, Pa. -- On Tuesday, the Mount Aloysius Baseball team hosted La Roche University in an AMCC doubleheader. The Mounties split with the Redhawks, winning Game One before falling in Game Two.

Jeremy Iellimo (Arnold, PA, Valley Area)Â led the Mounties on offense, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs in Game One. He also added an RBI and a walk in Game Two.

Tyler Quade (Mechanicsville, Md., Chopticon), threw a gem in Game One, finishing the complete game with 7.0 innings, allowing just three hits and a run. The victory was his sixth of the season.
How It Happened
Game One
- Quade started the game off tossing a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first. He then singled with one out in the bottom of the first. After advancing to second base, he scored when
Aidan Bell (Woodbridge, VA, Prince William County)Â doubled to deep left field. Bell would score from second base on a wild pitch, giving the Mounties a 2-0 lead.
- A pitching duel would continue until the bottom of the fourth inning, as the score remained 2-0. Mount Aloysius put their first two runners on in Iellimo and Bell, giving them two runners in scoring position.
Joshua Brown (Manassas, VA, Osbourn Park)Â singled to center field with one out to drive both runners across, making it 4-0 Mounties.
- Mount Aloysius added two more in the bottom of the fifth when Iellimo had a two-RBI single to center field, extending the Mountie lead to 6-0.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Mount Aloysius broke the game wide open. They tallied seven hits, including six consecutive hits, and scored five runs to go ahead, 11-0.
- La Roche would add one run in the top of the seventh, but that was all, as Mount Aloysius secured the 11-1 victory.
Game Two
- La Roche struck first in Game Two, as they used a two-out, two-run double to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
- The Redhawks added three more runs in the bottom of the second inning, as they picked up four hits, giving them a 5-0 lead.
- Two more La Roche runs came across in the top of the fourth inning, extending their lead to 7-0, the biggeest of the game.
- Mount Aloysius picked up a run in the bottom of the fourth, on a
Ryan Bushey (Latrobe, Pa., Derry) RBI single. That was followed up by  scoring on a double play ball, cutting the lead to five.
- The Mounties cut into the Redhawk lead again in the fifth. Quade tripled with one out and Iellimo followed by hitting a sacrifice fly to make the score, 7-3.
- La Roche saw the first three batters in the seventh inning reach base, including a two-run double, making the score, 9-3.Â
- Bell and Brown added back-to-back RBI singles in the bottom of the seventh inning, cutting the lead to 9-5. The Mounties put multiple runners on in both the eighth and ninth inning, but were unable to score, ending the game at 9-5.
Into the Box Scores
- Six different Mounties had multiple hits in Game One, led by Iellimo's three hits. La Roche only tallied three hits in the first matchup.
- In Game Two, Mount Aloysius had six different players with a hit, including three players with two hits each. La Roche had eight of their nine starters register a hit in the second game.
Up Next
- Wednesday's originally scheduled matchup with Penn College has been cancelled.
- Results of Tuesday's matchups set up a pivotal meeting, on Saturday, when the Mounties travel to Alfred State.
- Alfred State is currently 10-4 in AMCC play, while the Mounties sit at 8-4. The Mounties will make up their final two games with Medaille, next week.
- The Pioneers were swept by Penn State Behrend, on Tuesday, by scores of 13-3 and 9-3.
