BUFFALO, N.Y. -- On Wednesday, the Mount Aloysius Lacrosse team traveled to Buffalo for a makeup game with Buffalo State. They were bested by the Bengals, 19-7.

Mallie Lanier (Bealeton, Va., Liberty) led the Mounties with three goals.

Jordan Mason (Hagerstown, MD, St. Maria Goretti) had a team-high, five ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Zoe Swank (Romeoville, IL, Romeoville) had a game-high, 11 saves, in goal for Mount Aloysius. She also added five ground balls.
How It Happened
- The Bengals opened the game with a dominant first quarter. They scored eight unanswered goals, with the final one coming just before the quarter horn, allowing them to head into the second period with an 8-0 lead.
- After Buffalo State added a ninth goal, the Mounties got their first. Mason scored to cut the lead to 9-1.
- Buffalo State sandwiched four more goals around a lone Mountie marker, giving them a 13-2 lead at the half.Â
Hanna Geissler (Irwin, Pa., Norwin) scored her sixth goal of the season, at the 5:26 mark in the second quarter.
- To start the second half, Buffalo State got another quick goal, pushing their lead to 14-2. Lanier then scored her first goal of the game, with just over eight minutes remaining in the period, on an assist from
Katie Figinski (Abingdon, MD, Edgewood).
- Lanier would score again, following a Bengal goal, to make the game 15-4. She scored her 15th goal of the season on a free position shot.
- The teams would trade goals again before the end of the quarter, as Figinski scored her 15th goal of the season, to keep an 11 goal difference, 16-5.
- In the fourth quarter, Buffalo State had a slim, 3-2 advantage. Lanier scored her third goal of the game andÂ
Courtney Vought (Somerset, PA, Somerset) added a goal. However, it was not enough for the Mounties, as they fell, 19-7.
Into the Box Score
- Buffalo State outshot the Mounties, 41-14 for the game. They had a sizable advantage in the first half, 31-8.
- The Bengals also controlled a majority of the draws, winning 22 of the total 28 DCs.
