Men's Soccer Blanked by RIT

CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Men's Soccer team hosted the Tigers of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), in a non-conference matchup. The Tigers scored three unanswered goals to shutout the Mounties.

Leaders
- Goalkeeper, Luke Priestley (Edlesborough, England / Aylesbury Grammar School), had a game-high, five saves for Mount Aloysius.
- Four different Mounties tallied a shot, while Brendan Geiger (Watsontown, Pa. / Warrior Run) had the only shot on goal for the team.

How It Happened
- The first half was fairly uneventful until the Tigers scored the first goal of the game, in the 38th minute. Prior to their goal, the two teams combined for eight total shots in the half. RIT would take a 1-0 lead into the locker room.
- In the first eight-plus minutes of the second half, each team took two shots but failed to score. Over the final 37 minutes of the match, the Tigers attempted six shots, scoring twice, while the Mounties did not shoot. The two goals remained unanswered and the Mounties fell, 3-0.

Into the Box Score
- While the shot differential was evident, the Tigers also gave themselves some other opportunities. RIT took eight corner kicks while the Mounties only attempted one.
- All four Mountie shots came from players in the starting lineup. RIT got two goals from players that came in from the bench.

- Mount Aloysius faces another tough test, on Wednesday, when the host 18th-ranked, Carnegie Mellon.
- CMU comes into the matchup with a 6-0 record, following a 2-1 victory against Bethany on Saturday.
