CRESSON, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team commemorated its 2021 AMCC championship in a ring ceremony prior to its home opener against Saint Vincent College Wednesday night. The Mounties would then overcome a tenacious opponent and second-half downpour, winning 4-2.

Ethan Meader (Rayne, England, Colchester Sixth Form College) led Mount Aloysius with two goals, both in the first half.

Juan Camacho (Ibaque, Colombia, San Bonifacio de las Lanzas) contributed a goal, while also adding one assist.

Logan Walerysiak (Johnstown, PA, Conemaugh Township) rounded out the scoring for the Mounties, with a goal early on in the second period.

Michael Boyle (Woolwich Township, NJ, Kingsway) recorded an assist on a late second-half Camacho goal.
How It Happened
- About eight minutes into the game, Meader connected on the Mounties' first goal on a rebound after a corner kick shot.
- The game remained at 1-0 for the majority of the first period until Meader added another goal at the 43:24 mark, this time on a header directly off a corner kick by Camacho.
- During the final seconds of the first half, St. Vincent would get on the board with a long free kick, bringing the score to 2-1.
- In the beginning stages of the second period, Walerysiak took advantage of a penalty kick to give Mount Aloysius a 3-1 advantage.
- St. Vincent answered, however, with a goal at the 67:23 mark to get the game back within one score, 3-2.
- The game stayed competitive as the second half progressed until Camacho contributed an insurance goal assisted by Boyle in the 86th minute, putting the game away, 4-2.

- The Mounties led in shots, 12-10, with six in each period.
- Mount Aloysius held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-3.
- The Mounties played a physical game, committing 21 fouls compared to just nine for St. Vincent.
