LATROBE, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team traveled to Saint Vincent, on Wednesday night, for a matchup with the Bearcats. The Mounties fell in straight sets, 3-0.

How It Happened
- After scoring the first point of the match, the Mounties fell behind, 8-1. They played the next 31 points almost even, 16-15, as the first set came to set point, 24-16 for Saint Vincent. The Mounties tried to rally, as they scored four straight, but ultimately fell, 25-20.
- In the second set, the Mounties again fell behind early, 8-2, and were unable to make up the difference. While they did score eight straight points to take a 12-11 lead in the set, the comeback did not hold up, as the Bearcats scored six of the next eight points and finished off the set, 25-18.
- The third set started close, as the Bearcats got a 6-5 advantage to start. Unfortunately for Mount Aloysius, Saint Vincent outscored them 19-9 the rest of the set, to win 25-14 and end the game with a 3-0 win.
Into the Box Score
- Saint Vincent held an advantage in almost every category. The biggest advantage, came in hitting, as they had 38 kills to only 23 for the Mounties. Over the course of the game, Saint Vincent hit .234 while the Mounties only hit .036.
- The Bearcats also had more blocks (5-2) and aces (8-4), than the Mounties.

- The Mounties will return home, for their first home game(s) of the season, as they host a tri-match on Saturday. Clarks Summit and La Roche are the two visiting teams.
- Play will start at 12:00 p.m. with the Mounties playing against Clarks Summit. Following a neutral match between the visitors, the Mounties will take on La Roche at 4:00 p.m.
- This early season matchup against La Roche will not count towards conference standings. Mount Aloysius will travel to La Roche on October 18 as part of the conference calendar.
