MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Mount Aloysius Baseball team continued their Spring Break trip, on Wednesday, when they played Little East Conference member, Plymouth State. The Panthers ultimately bested the Mounties, 8-5.

Aidan Bell (Woodbridge, Va. / Prince William County)Â led the Mounties with two hits, including one double, in four at-bats.

Joshua Brown (Manassas, Va. /Â Osbourn Park)Â provided the biggest boost offensively, going 1-for-3, with his lone hit being a grand slam, driving in four runs.

John Luke Bailey (New Kensington, Pa. / Valley Area)Â limited damage out of the bullpen by pitching six innings and striking out five batters.
How It Happened
- To start off the game, the Mounties loaded the bases in the first inning, but failed to push a run across. Plymouth State answered by using two hits and two walks to score three runs and grab a 3-0 lead.
- Neither team scored in the second inning.
Ryan Lynn (Butler, Pa. / Butler)Â picked up a hit with a one-out single in the third inning. With two outs, Bell walked and
Zack Peck (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon)Â was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Brown delivered on this bases loaded at-bat by hitting it over the right field fence to give the Mounties a 4-3 lead.
- Plymouth State pushed a run across in their half of the third, fourth, and fifth innings, while the Mounties pushed one across in the fifth on a Peck, RBI groundout, putting the score at 6-5 in favor of the Panthers, heading to the final four innings.
- Over the final four innings, the Mounties only picked up two hits and saw Plymouth State score two more runs, in the seventh, extending their lead to the final score of 8-5.

- Mount Aloysius gave up double-digit hits for the third straight game.
- Even with the three-run advantage, the Panthers left more runners on base than the Mounties. They stranded 11 runners, while the Mounties left seven runners on base.
