CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- On Thursday, the Mount Aloysius Men's Volleyball team rounded out their pre-Spring Break schedule, as they traveled to Wilson to take on the Phoenix in a non-conference match. Despite winning sets three and four to tie the game, the Mounties fell in the fifth set, dropping the match, 3-2.

Leaders
- Matthew Franz (Johnstown, Ohio / Bishop Hartley) led the Mounties with a game-high, 18 kills, while also adding three service aces.
- Freshman Jason Freed (East Aurora, N.Y. / East Aurora) had a career-high, six blocks. Sophomore Cole Romeika (Macedon, N.Y. / Penfield) also added a career-high, dishing out 20 assists.
- Andrew Wlodarczyk (East Aurora, N.Y. / East Aurora) registered a team-high, 15 digs, for the Mounties.

How It Happened
- The first set saw the Mounties start slow, falling behind 13-5. Their biggest deficit was nine points, 15-6, before they started to get back in the set. Mount Aloysius cut the lead to 21-17, with quite a few Phoenix errors helping along the way. From that point, the two teams alternated the final seven points, as the Mounties fell, 25-20.
- Mount Aloysius started from behind again in the second set, as Wilson got out to an 8-3 lead. The Mounties turned it around though, going on a 12-4 run to take a 15-12 lead. However, Wilson would also add a big run, scoring eight of the next ten points to take a 20-17 lead. The teams split the final ten points, with the Mounties dropping the set, 25-22.
- In the third set, the Mounties had control from the start, grabbing an early 4-1 lead, thanks to four errors from Wilson. The Phoenix would get as close as two points, but the Mounties would not surrender the lead, ultimately winning the set, 25-20.
- Both teams fought to grab control of the fourth set, as they started out and split the first 12 points. Mount Aloysius took hold of the set after that, outscoring the Phoenix, 19-8, and tying the game at two sets a piece.
- Wilson got out ahead in the fifth and final set, jumping out to a 4-1 lead. Mount Aloysius worked their way back and tied it at five. Wilson responded and scored six of the next eight points, grabbing an 11-7 lead, with the winner only needing 15 points. The Mounties attempted to overcome the deficit, but saw the Phoenix pick up their final four points, winning the set 15-12 and the match 3-2.
