PITTSBURGH -- On Tuesday, the Mount Aloysius Baseball team traveled to Pittsburgh to take on La Roche in an AMCC doubleheader. The Mounties (14-19, 6-6 AMCC) dropped Game One but earned a victory in Game Two, salvaging a split against the Redhawks.

Tyler Suder (Boswell, PA, North Star)Â had a career day, going 9-for-10, while driving in four RBIs and scoring four runs.

Aidan Bell (Woodbridge, Va. / Prince William County)Â went 5-for-7 and scored three times.
- Sophomore  closed out the victory for the Mounties in Game Two. He hit a go-ahead, three-run home run, in the eighth inning, before closing out the final 1.2 innings on the mound.
How It Happened
Game One
- Mount Aloysius opened up the scoring, in the first inning, when
Brandon Shane (Boyertown, Pa. /Â Boyertown)Â hit a sacrifice fly to score Suder, giving the Mounties a 1-0 lead.
- La Roche took the lead over the second and third innings, picking up RBI hits in both frames, to go ahead 2-1.

Troy Emert (Rockwood, Pa. / Rockwood)Â drove in the Mounties' second and tying run, using a sacrifice fly to score Bell from third base. 2-2.
- In the fourth, La Roche picked up a run on an RBI single to grab a 3-2 lead. They then got a three-run homer to extend their lead to 6-2 and give their pitcher some necessary insurance.
- The Mounties got RBI singles from Bell and Quade, in the fifth inning, to cut the lead in half, 6-4. After a scoreless sixth inning, Â added a sacrifice fly in the seventh, to cut the Redhawk lead to 6-5. Mount Aloysius would end the contest with runners on second and third, unable to push them across, falling 6-5.
Game Two
- La Roche started the game with a 1-2-3 inning on defense, then scored three runs in the bottom half, grabbing an early 3-0 lead.Â
Zack Peck (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon)Â responded in the bottom half of the second, hitting a two-run homer and cutting the lead to 3-2.
- Mount Aloysius grabbed their first lead of Game Two, in the fourth inning. Emert drove in the first run on a fielder's choice, tying the game at three. After
Joshua Brown (Manassas, Va. /Â Osbourn Park)Â scored the go-ahead run on an error, Suder delivered a two-RBI double to give the Mounties a 6-3 lead.
- While holding the Mounties scoreless, the Redhawks added two runs on a home run in the fifth inning and another two runs in the seventh inning, grabbing a 7-6 lead.
- After the leadoff batter made an out in the eighth, Suder and
Ryan Bushey (Latrobe, Pa. / Derry)Â each singled to give the Mounties two runners on base. Quade followed them with a three-run blast that would put the Mounties back in front, 9-7.
- La Roche scored a run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning, cutting the lead to 9-8. Suder drove in two insurance runs, in the top of the ninth, with his ninth hit of the day to give the Mounties an 11-8 lead. Quade stranded two runners on base, in the bottom of the ninth, but earned the save with all three outs coming on strikeouts.

- In Game One, each team used just one pitcher. Mountie starter
Chris Hasse (Johnstown, Pa. / Westmont Hilltop)Â scattered eight hits over 6.0 innings, while the Mounties picked up 11 hits and stranded seven runners on base.
- Both teams combined to use ten pitchers in the second game, with Mount Aloysius using six.
Matthew Watkins (Broad Top City, Pa. /Â Tussey Mountain)Â tossed a team-high, 2.2 innings.

- Tuesday's results set up an extremely significant series, this weekend, when the Mounties host Hilbert.
- Hilbert is currently tied for second place in the AMCC standings with a 7-5 record. Mount Aloysius is sitting in fourth place, with a 6-6 record, just one game ahead of both Penn State Altoona and Pitt-Greensburg.
- Alfred State is the only team that knows their AMCC Tournament seeding, heading into the final weekend. They are 10-2 and have locked up the #1 seed and home-field advantage.
