WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team traveled to Penn College on Tuesday night, taking on the Wildcats in a non-conference matchup. After winning the first set, the Mounties dropped three straight sets and ultimately, the match.

How It Happened
- The Mounties fell behind in set one, 6-4, early in the set. They would fight back to take a 7-6 lead and after trading points, would lead the first set for good. Mount Aloysius cruised to a first set victory, scoring 11 of the final 13 set points, winning 25-14.
- In the second set, the Mounties jumped out to a 5-1 lead and would continue to hold an advantage, leading 13-10. The Wildcats would score nine of the next 11 points and take advantage of some sloppy play, grabbing a 19-15 lead. Trailing 22-18, the Mounties stormed back with five straight points to take a 23-22 lead. However, the Wildcats answered with the final three points to even the match at one set a piece.
- Mount Aloysius once again jumped out to a lead, 7-1, in the third set. The Wildcats worked their way back, cutting the Mountie lead eventually down to 14-12. Following a
Madison Johnson (Hopewell, Pa. / Northern Bedford County)Â kill to push the lead up to 15-12, the Mounties fell apart. Penn College would score 13 straight points and win the set 25-15.
- The fourth set had everything you could ask for as a fan. Scoring was close early, after Penn College scored two straight points to make it 9-8 Mounties. Mount Aloysius would then score six straight points to grab some control and lead 15-8. After trading points, the Wildcats would score eight straight to take a 17-16 lead. The two teams would once again trade the lead back and forth, going all the way into extra points. Mount Aloysius had two chances to win the set, at 25-24 and 26-25, but Penn College thwarted their attempts both times and won the set, 28-26, and the match, 3-1.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius out-hit the Wildcats in both of the first two sets. However, Penn College flipped the script in the final two sets, out-hitting the Mounties. In the third set, the Wildcats hit .261 and the Mounties hit -.042, with five kills and six errors.
- The Mounties also held advantages in aces (20-14) and blocks (10-9).
