YORK, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team wrapped up the majority of their non-conference schedule, as they traveled to York (Pa.) for a tri-match against Misericordia and York.

Molly Richards (Naples, Fla. / Naples)Â led the Mounties with 28 total kills, on the day. She also added 25 kills.
- Libero,
Kadence Della Valle (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights), had a team-high, 27 digs, with 15 coming against Misericordia.

Sydney Lechner (Bellwood, Pa. /Â Bellwood-Antis)Â had 28 assists, including 25 in the Mounties win in Game One. She also had five aces on the day.
How It Happened
Game One vs. Misericordia
- Mount Aloysius used a 6-1 run, which included three kills from
Madison Johnson (Hopewell, Pa. / Northern Bedford County), to grab get an advantage that they would ride to a 25-21 victory in the first set.
- In the second set, the Mounties led 14-13 and scored the next six straight points with six kills. Three of the kills came from Richards, two from
Kaylee Smith (Altoona, Pa. /Â Altoona), and the other from
Emily Henry (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights). That run propelled them to a second set victory, 25-20.
- The Mounties fell behind in set number three, 10-4 and never truly recovered, falling 25-15. They still held a 2-1 advantage heading into the fourth set.
- Misericordia held a small advantage through a majority of the fourth set, 17-15, as they tried to even the match. At that point, Mount Aloysius scored eight of the next nine points and took command, 23-18, allowing them to trade the final four points and earn a 3-1 match victory.
Game Two vs. York (Pa.)
- Opening the second game of the day, Mount Aloysius started strong and were ahead 20-15. York turned it around and outscored the Mounties, 10-3, snatching the set from them 25-23.
- Dropping the first set seemed to take the wind out of the Mountie sails, as they stumbled in the second set, falling 25-13 and getting behind 2-0.
- In the third set, the Mounties were still reeling. They fell behind 4-0 and continued to struggle, scoring just 11 points and dropping the set 25-11.
Into the Box Scores
- In Game One, Mount Aloysius registered 15 more kills than the Cougars. However, they also had 14 more errors than Misericordia. Their highlight in the second set was 19 kills, as they hit .359 in the set.
- In the game against York (Pa.), the Spartans had 18 service aces in just three sets, while Mount Aloysius had just four. Those aces helped the Spartans, especially in the first set, as the Mounties had 12 kills and one error in the set, but still fell 25-23.

- Mount Aloysius will begin conference play, on Tuesday, when they host La Roche.
- La Roche is currently 9-5 on the season, after falling to both Franciscan and Washington & Jefferson, on Saturday.
