CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Men's Soccer team showcased a dominant performance against Pitt Bradford, winning by a score of 4-0. The victory not only highlighted the Mounties' strong play, but also secured their spot in the semifinals against Penn State Behrend.
Louis Bez (Bordeaux, France / Lycée Sainte-Marie de la Bastide) was the standout player of the match, scoring the Mounties three insurance goals, to complete a hat trick. This performance from Bez was immense as it gave the Mounties constant momentum throughout the course of the game.
Luke Traynor (London, England / Woodhouse College) also contributed to the victory, finding the back of the net early in the game to get the Mounties started. The goal came in just the fourth minute of play. It was Traynor's second goal of the season and his second game-winning-goal, as well.
With the win, the Mounties will now head to Penn State Behrend for the semifinal round, on Wednesday. The Lions earned the number two seed in the AMCC Tournament, earning them a bye into the semis. In their earlier meeting this season, the Mounties drew with the Lions, 2-2.
