LATROBE, Pa. -- On Tuesday, the Mount Aloysius Men's Volleyball team traveled to Saint Vincent for a matchup with the AMCC-leading Bearcats (17-7, 8-0 AMCC). The Mounties unfortunately ran into a proven opponent and fell to the hosts, 3-0.
While the Mounties opened up hitting .290 in the first set, the Bearcats hit a blistering .517, with 16 kills and just one hitting error. The Saint Vincent offense continued to prove potent, as they hit .411 for the contest with just eight total hitting errors. In comparison, Mount Aloysius hit .204, which was still above their season average.
In the first set, the teams split the first 16 points, but the Bearcats outscored the Mounties 18-9, with ten points coming from kills. The second set was similar, as the Mounties kept the score close, 17-16, before the Bearcats ripped off eight of the next nine points to win 25-17 again.
Mount Aloysius grabbed a quick 2-0 lead in the third set, but it did not last, as Saint Vincent methodically stretched their lead over the rest of the set. Their biggest lead was their last, 25-18.

Corey Obeldobel (Aliquippa, Pa. /Â Hopewell) also led the game, with 11 digs.
The Mounties are scheduled to head to Hilbert, this weekend. Hilbert is currently 2-3 in conference play, prior to a Wednesday matchup against Thiel. Mount Aloysius fell to the Hawks, last season, 3-0. They are 0-3 all-time against Hilbert.
