BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team came up short against #25 Johns Hopkins University (11-3, 3-1 Centennial) this Wednesday, Jan 15. Forward
Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center) put together a strong performance, recording a 16 point, 15 rebound double-double on 50% shooting from the floor.
The Mounties would see tough defense from the jump, as Johns Hopkins would hold the visitors to just 2-13 shooting in the first quarter. The Blue Jays would also overwhelm the Mounties offensively in the first, going 5-10 from deep to take a 25-point lead going into the second quarter.
The perimeter defense of the Blue Jays would prove the biggest stumbling block for the Mounties across the next three quarters, shutting down the three ball for the visitors. The Mounties would go 1-14 from deep for the game, with guard
Annalyn Isaacs (Mars, Pa., Mars) hitting the sole three in the fourth quarter. The Blue Jays would also force 21 turnovers from the Mounties, while committing less than half as many.
The Mounties fall to 8-7 heading in to Saturday's match up against conference opponent Hilbert. The Hawks enter the contest 1-15 this season and 1-6 in AMCC play, coming off a 36-102 loss to Penn State Behrend.
