Pittsburgh, Pa --The Mount Aloysius Mounties were handed a tough 80-52 defeat by the La Roche RedHawks on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Mounties fall to 11-8 on the season and 6-4 in conference play. 

Despite the Mountie loss, the game saw strong performances from Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center) and Angelina Kohlwaies (Lake Worth, Fla., Cardinal Newman). Kosmack led the way for the Mounties, finishing with 18 points and 9 rebounds, just one board shy of a double-double. Kohlwaies contributed 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. This duo has been extremely dominant as of late, but the Mounties couldn't find a way to get it going and claw their way back into the contest.

The ultimate story of the night was the shooting woes that struck the Mounties throughout the game. Despite their recent shooting success the team shot just 31.6% from the field and 23.5% from beyond the arc, which allowed La Roche to pull away in the second half. The second and fourth quarters playing key factors tonight, the Mounties would fall behind big as La Roche would capitalize on them winning the quarters 44-20.

Despite the tough loss, the Mounties will look to bounce back this Saturday, February 1st, when they will go on the road to face off against Penn State Behrend. This game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
