CRESSON, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team battled to a 2–2 draw against Alfred State on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Field in a heated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) matchup.

The Mounties (8–4–1, 2–1–1 AMCC) honored eight seniors in a pregame ceremony before kicking off against the Pioneers (5–2–5, 2–0–2 AMCC). The contest turned physical early and often, with a total of 14 yellow cards and one red card issued between the two teams.

Alfred State struck first, taking a 1–0 lead in the 33rd minute. Mount Aloysius responded early in the second half when Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges) found the equalizer in the 55th minute off an assist from Martin Donner (Stockholm, Sweden, Danderyds Gymnasium Studievagl).

The Mounties grabbed the lead in the 63rd minute when Tanner Polcyn (Watsontown, Pa., Warrior Run) scored off a double assist from Pelayo Martin (Ciudad Real, Spain, IES Santa María de Alarcos) and Joel Martinez (Madrid, Spain, Putnam Science Academy). However, the Pioneers responded in the 82nd minute to level the match at 2–2, where it would stay through the final whistle.

Mount Aloysius returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14, when they travel to Pittsburgh to take on Carlow in another AMCC showdown.
