PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Mount Aloysius women's volleyball picked up a strong road win on Wednesday night, sweeping Carlow in three sets (25-15, 26-24, 25-17) at St. Joe's Gym. With the win, the Mounties improve to 15-6 overall and 3-0 in AMCC play.
The Mounties delivered a well-rounded performance offensively, led by junior 
Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) with 14 kills and senior 
Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) with 13. Freshman 
Ava Patton (Bellwood, Pa, Bellwood-Antis) chipped in with 4 kills of her own. Junior setter 
Reghyn Wilson (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) orchestrated the offense efficiently with 20 assists, while freshman 
Kiersten Cummings (Las Vegas, Nev, Nevada State) added 13.
Defensively, the Mounties made life difficult for the Celtic hitters, holding them to a .000 hitting percentage across the match. The back row was anchored by junior Poliana Lazarini (Marialva, Brazil / Garrido) and junior libero Madison Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler), each tallying 17 digs, while Richards added 11 to complete a double-double performance.
At the net, senior Kaylee Smith (Altoona, Pa., Altoona) led with 3 blocks as the Mounties outblocked Carlow 7-3 and controlled the tempo.

Women's volleyball will return to the court next week as they continue AMCC play. Mount Aloysius will host the La Roche College Redhawks (4-12, 1-1 AMCC) on Tuesday at 7 PM in the ACWC. The Mounties have already defeated the Redhawks once this season, defeating them in straight sets 25-20, 25-16, and 25-18.
