Mount Aloysius Battles to Scoreless Draw at La Roche

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team played to a hard-fought 0-0 draw against conference opponent La Roche on Wednesday afternoon in a key Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) matchup.

In a physical contest that featured tight defense from both sides, the Mounties (9-5-2, 3-1-2 AMCC) controlled much of the action, outshooting the Redhawks (7-4-4, 4-1-2 AMCC) by a 10-3 margin in shots on goal. Despite creating several scoring opportunities, Mount Aloysius was unable to find the back of the net.

The match saw one yellow card issued to La Roche and a red card to the Mounties as emotions intensified late in the contest. Both defensive units and goalkeepers turned in strong performances to keep the game level through 90 minutes.

With the draw, Mount Aloysius remains in the thick of the AMCC playoff race, currently sitting fifth in the standings—just two games behind first place—with two regular season games remaining.
