Steubenville, Ohio – The Mount Aloysius Women's Lacrosse team (0-1, 0-0 AMCC) traveled on the road to face the Franciscan Barons (1-1, 0-0 PAC) in their 2025 season opener. The Mounties are coming into this season with a brand new identity. Showcasing a new coach and lots of new faces, they are eager to see what the season has in store.
The Mounties would face a barrage of shots from Franciscan's high-powered offense, which scored 20 goals on 37 shots. In return, the Mounties managed just 16 shots on goal, converting 4 of them. Unfortunately, the result of the season opener was not what the Mounties had hoped, as they lost 4-20
The goal scorers for the Mounties were
Clara Larios-Soto (Laurel, MD, Laurel) with 2,
Hanna Geissler (Irwin, Pa., Norwin) with 1, and
Amanda Price (Columbia, Pa., Hempfield) with 1.
The Mounties will look to build momentum as they head into their next game on February 26th, set to take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats, in Latrobe, Pa, at 7 PM.
