Mounties Defeat Golden Tornadoes for First Win

Cresson, Pa. - The Mount Aloysius Women's Lacrosse team (1-3) bounced back on Thursday night, grabbing an emphatic 16-5 win against the Geneva Golden Tornadoes (0-4).

The Mounties would start off shaky, turning over the ball six times in the first quarter. They would head into the second quarter with a 3-1 lead. However, in the second quarter, the Mounties would turn up the heat offensively, taking 16 shots and converting seven of them, their highest totals of all the quarters. From there, the Mounties were in the driving seat and cruised to a 16-5 victory.

The goal scorers for the Mounties were: Cassidy Cook (Glen Burnie, Md. / North County) and Clara Larios-Soto (Laurel, Md. / Laurel), with four each, Brenna Dobson (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County), Hanna Geissler (Irwin, Pa. / Norwin), and Jordan Turner (Grampian, Pa. / Curwensville), with two each, while Isabella Panichelle (Butler, Pa., Butler) and Amanda Price (Columbia, Pa., Hempfield) each contributed one.

Head Coach Courtney Vought also earned the first victory of her coaching career, with this being her first season.

The Mount Aloysius Women's Lacrosse team will have a week off before traveling to Virginia Beach to take on Virginia Wesleyan on March 23rd.
