VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Coming off their first win of the season, hopes were high that the Mount Aloysius Women's Lacrosse team (1-4) would be able to gain more momentum before conference games were to begin. Unfortunately, that would not happen as the Mounties lost 18-7 to the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins (6-4).
The Mounties were unable to stop the onslaught of shots, with Kendall Cramer (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) facing 20 shots on goal. On the offensive end, the Mounties would muster 17 shots, 10 of which were on goal.
The goal scorers for the Mounties were:
Cassidy Cook (Glen Burnie, Md. / North County), Hanna Geissler (Irwin, Pa., Norwin), and
Clara Larios-Soto (Laurel, Md. / Laurel), each with two, and
Amanda Price (Columbia, Pa. / Hempfield) with one.
Mount Aloysius will open conference play, on Saturday, against Alfred State. The game will be at Kelly Field, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
