Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Mounties Offensive Spark Leads to 17-5 Win

Hamburg, NY — The Mount Aloysius Women's Lacrosse Team (3-5,2-0 AMCC) hit the road for a conference match-up with the Hilbert College Hawks (1-6,0-2 AMCC). The Mounties were looking to stay perfect in AMCC play, which they would go on to do in dominant fashion.

The Mounties came out firing, jumping to a commanding 7–2 lead after just the first quarter. Six different players found the back of the net in the opening 15 minutes, showcasing the team's offensive power. Mount Aloysius would keep the pressure on all game, winning every quarter en route to a 17–5 victory over the Hawks.

The Mounties would also see some very strong play on the defensive end. As a team, Mount Aloysius would collect 33 ground balls. The Mounties would also force 17 turnovers in the game, allowing the team to gain extra possessions and create more scoring opportunities on the offensive end.

In the game, the Mounties had 31 shots on goal, many would find the back of the net. Freshman Cassidy Cook (Glen Burnie, Md., North County) led the way with a standout five-goal performance. Shelby Smeal (Altoona, Pa., Altoona) and Clara Larios-Soto (Laurel, MD, Laurel) each chipped in four goals, while Brenna Dobson (Lewistown, Pa., Mifflin County) added two. Amanda Price (Columbia, Pa., Hempfield) and Katelyn Garber (Midlothian, Va., Manchester) also contributed one goal apiece to round out the scoring.

Up next, the Mounties will return home to host conference opponent the La Roche Red Hawks. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 PM.
