CRESSON, Pa. — Lycoming College earned its first win of the season with a 3-0 road victory over Mount Aloysius on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Field.
The Warriors (1-2-2) struck twice in the first half and added a third goal just one minute into the second half to put the game out of reach. Mount Aloysius (4-2), off to a strong start this season, struggled to generate chances in the attacking third and was shut out for the first time this year.
Lycoming outshot the Mounties 18-7 and held the edge in possession for much of the match. The physical contest saw both teams battling hard in the midfield, with Mount Aloysius committing 13 fouls to Lycoming's 11.
Trailing 2-0 at the half, the Mounties hoped to rally after the break but were quickly dealt a blow when the Warriors scored again in the 46th minute. From there, Mount Aloysius was unable to recover offensively despite fighting hard.
