Mounties Shut Out Westminster 3-0 at Kelly Field

Cresson, PA — The Mount Aloysius Mounties (5-2) continued their strong run this season with a convincing 3-0 victory over the Westminster Titans (0-5-1) on Wednesday evening at Kelly Field.

The Mounties wasted no time asserting control over the match, as Tanner Polcyn (Watsontown, Pa., Warrior Run) opened the scoring just 32 seconds into the game with an unassisted strike, immediately putting Westminster on the back foot. Mount Aloysius maintained the momentum, and in the 21st minute, Cole Taylor (Bedford, PA, Bedford HS / St Francis University) doubled the lead, connecting on a well-placed pass from Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges)

From that point forward, the Mounties dominated both ends of the field. Their defense was especially impressive, consistently breaking up Westminster's attacking efforts and limiting the Titans' opportunities throughout the match. The goalkeeper and backline worked cohesively to preserve a clean sheet, frustrating the visitors' offense all night.

Mount Aloysius put the game out of reach in the 69th minute when Gonzalo Terricabris scored the final goal, assisted by Joel Martinez. The goal not only extended the lead but also showcased the team's depth and ability to capitalize on scoring chances.
