The Mount Aloysius Mounties hosted the Carnegie Mellon Tartans on Kelly Field Tuesday night with kickoff at 7:30 PM. Both teams entered the matchup with strong records—Mounties at 7-2 and Tartans at 6-1-3—setting the stage for an intense, physical battle.

The Tartans took an early lead, striking first in the 15th minute before doubling their advantage just four minutes later to go up 2-0. The Mounties responded quickly, however, as Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges) found the back of the net in the 20th minute, scoring his seventh goal of the season. With this goal, Terricabris tied for the most goals in the AMCC and continued to impress as the league's second-leading assist provider with five assists thus far.

The score remained 2-1 in favor of Carnegie Mellon through a tightly contested game until the 69th minute, when the Tartans extended their lead to 3-1. Despite efforts from the Mounties, Carnegie Mellon held on to claim the victory.

Mount Aloysius will look to bounce back on Saturday, October 4th, when they travel to face Penn State Behrend in an AMCC conference match. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM at the PSB Soccer Complex.
