Kosmack Grabs 24 Boards in Mountie Loss

ERIE, Pa. — Mount Aloysius showed resilience and strong individual performances Saturday afternoon but came up short in a 76–59 loss at the Junker Center Gym.

The Mounties were led by a dominant outing from Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center), who posted a double-double with 17 points and a game-high 24 rebounds. Kosmack was efficient offensively, shooting 8-for-11 from the floor, while anchoring the Mount Aloysius presence in the paint.

After a slow start, Mount Aloysius found its rhythm in the third quarter, outscoring its opponent 20–18. The Mounties shot over 57 percent from the field in the period and knocked down four 3-pointers to cut into the deficit and keep the contest competitive.

Annalyn Isaacs (Harmony, Pa., Mars) finished with 12 points, hitting four shots from beyond the arc, while Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) added nine points. Brionna Brown (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) also provided a spark off the bench with nine points, connecting on three 3-pointers as Mount Aloysius received 13 bench points on the afternoon.

Mount Aloysius won the rebounding battle, 42–34, and generated 14 second-chance points while scoring 28 points in the paint. Defensively, the Mounties recorded seven steals and two blocks, continuing to compete on that end throughout the game.

Despite the final score, Mount Aloysius shot 40.4 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three-point range, highlighting its offensive efficiency. The Mounties will look to build on their strong rebounding and third-quarter momentum as they continue AMCC play.
