Lynchburg, Va. - On Saturday, men's volleyball traveled down to Lynchburg, Virginia for a Tri-Match featuring the host team, Randolph College and No. 4 Southern Virginia.

Game 1:

Mount Aloysius opened play at the Randolph College Tri-Match with a 3-0 setback to host Randolph on Saturday afternoon at Frances and Don Giles Gymnasium.

The Mounties faced a strong Randolph squad that entered the match undefeated and set the tone early. Randolph used efficient attacking to take the opening set 25-12, hitting .471 in the frame, while Mount Aloysius worked to find its offensive rhythm. Despite the early deficit, the Mounties showed improved play in the second set, tightening things defensively and reducing errors, but Randolph maintained control with a 25-13 win.

Mount Aloysius continued to battle in the third set, producing its best stretch of the match offensively and pushing Randolph more consistently in rallies. The Mounties stayed competitive behind steady contributions at the net, but Randolph closed out the sweep with a 25-16 victory.

Sophomore Zach Rosenwald (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) led Mount Aloysius with seven kills and added four digs, while senior Connor O'Mealia (Rochester, N.Y., Churchville) chipped in five kills and five assists. Sophomore Brady Diegelman (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler Area) was active all around, recording eight assists and a team-high three blocks, helping the Mounties generate momentum in stretches.
