PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius Mounties dropped a straight-sets decision Tuesday night in a nonconference men's volleyball match at the Athletic & Fitness Center.
Mount Aloysius fell 25-14, 25-11, 25-8 in a contest that began at 7:00 p.m. and was played in front of an announced crowd of 50. The Mounties worked to find offensive consistency but were unable to overcome early deficits in each set.
Zach Rosenwald (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) led Mount Aloysius with three kills and six digs, while Jason Freed (East Aurora, N.Y., East Aurora) and Brady Diegelman (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler Area) added two kills apiece. Connor O'Mealia (Rochester, N.Y., Churchville) directed the offense with 10 assists and chipped in five digs. Bryson Brooks (Martinsburg, Pa., Central) recorded two service aces, and Evan Sigel (Bedford, Pa., Bedford) finished with one block.
After scoring 14 points in the opening set, the Mounties continued to compete defensively, but struggled to convert at the net, finishing the match with 11 kills and a negative hitting percentage. Mount Aloysius showed resilience throughout the contest, extending rallies and battling through long points despite sustained pressure.
The Mounties will look to build on individual performances as they continue the 2026 season and search for their first win.
