Mount Aloysius Battles King’s in Tri-Match Finale

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Mount Aloysius men's volleyball team closed out tri-match action with a competitive straight-set match against King's on Saturday afternoon at Gannett Field House.

The Mounties dropped the match 25–18, 25–20, 25–20 but continued to show progress on the offensive end, finishing with 32 kills and a .137 hitting percentage while keeping all three sets within striking distance.

Jason Freed (East Aurora, N.Y., East Aurora) paced Mount Aloysius with 10 kills and two blocks, providing a consistent presence at the net. Zach Rosenwald (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) added eight kills and a team-high two aces, while Brady Diegelman (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler Area) contributed six kills, two aces, and five digs in an all-around effort.

Setter Connor O'Mealia (Rochester, N.Y., Churchville) guided the Mounties offense with 26 assists, helping the team establish rhythm and generate multiple scoring runs. Defensively, Bryson Brooks (Martinsburg, Pa., Central) led the back row with eight digs, and Mount Aloysius totaled five blocks to slow the opponent's attack.

After dropping the opening set, the Mounties responded with improved ball control and competitive play in the final two sets, trading long rallies and pushing the pace late in each frame.

Mount Aloysius will look to build on Saturday's performance as the Mounties continue through the early portion of the season.
