Mount Aloysius Controls Match in Straight-Set Win

CRESSON, Pa. — Mount Aloysius delivered a dominant performance Tuesday evening, sweeping Carlow in straight sets (25-10, 25-17, 25-12) in an AMCC men's volleyball matchup at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center.

The Mounties (3-19, 3-4 AMCC) controlled the match from the opening serve, hitting an efficient .375 as a team while holding Carlow (0-22, 0-10 AMCC) to just a .054 hitting percentage. Mount Aloysius set the tone early with a .435 attack percentage in the first set, building momentum that carried through the remainder of the match.

Mount Aloysius totaled 34 kills on 64 attempts with just 10 errors and added 15 service aces, consistently applying pressure from the service line. The Mounties' defense also played a key role, finishing with 27 digs and limiting Carlow's offensive rhythm throughout the night.

Mount Aloysius was led by Zach Rosenwald (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler), Bryson Brooks (Martinsburg, Pa., Central), and Brady Diegelman (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler Area), who each recorded seven kills in a balanced offensive effort. Connor O'Mealia (Rochester, N.Y., Churchville) directed the offense with 25 assists, while Brooks added a team-high seven digs. Diegelman powered the Mounties from the service line with a match-high eight aces, highlighting a strong all-around performance.

Carlow was limited offensively throughout the match, as Mount Aloysius maintained control in all three sets to secure the conference victory.

Mount Aloysius will look to build on the win as it continues AMCC play later this week.
