Mount Aloysius Honors Men’s Mental Health Day Against Lions

CRESSON, Pa. — Mount Aloysius College fell to Penn State Altoona in straight sets on Tuesday night at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center, dropping a 3-0 decision in an AMCC matchup.

Before the match, the Mounties honored Men's Mental Health Day, taking a moment to raise awareness and support mental wellness among student-athletes.

On the court, Mount Aloysius struggled to find its rhythm early, falling behind 25-10 in the first set. The team battled harder in the second set, reaching 17 points, but Penn St.–Altoona maintained control with strong hitting and serving. The third set saw the Mounties score 11 points, but the visitors closed out the sweep 25-11.

Despite the loss, there were notable performances from Mount Aloysius. Zach Rosenwald (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) and Brady Diegelman (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler Area) each recorded five kills, while Bryson Brooks (Martinsburg, Pa., Central) added three kills and six digs. Connor O'Mealia (Rochester, N.Y., Churchville) ran the offense effectively with 13 assists, helping create scoring opportunities against a strong Penn St. Altoona team.

The Mounties will look to regroup and build on their individual performances as the AMCC schedule continues.
